Big Spider's Back's Top Albums/Miscellany of 2009

Yair of Big Spider's Back shares a couple of his favorites for 2009.
Falty DL - Love is a Liability
This is a late addition to my rotation this year, but it's been playing pretty nonstop since. I love the soul on this record. I get kinda tired of dubstep and garage being so dour, but this sounds very hopeful and beautiful.

Universal Studios Florida - Ocean Sunbirds
I feel very fortunate to have contributed to a small part of this record and really proud some hometown dudes have made such a special and unique musical statement. The songs are so creative and just plain unfuckwithable. They deserve all the praise they get.

Bibio - Ambivalence Avenue
I've been a big fan of this guy's stuff for a long time. I was definitely shocked to hear some bona fide beats on this record. It's like he had a giant stockpile of jams this whole time, just waiting to deploy them at the right moment.

Gold Panda - Miyamae EP
I'v been totally addicted to this since I heard it earlier this year. It hits me in the sweet spot between funkiness and melancholy/sentimentatlity. I would definitely check out the killer track Quitter's Raga too.

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion
I guess this one goes without saying. It was so weird to see this album on Billboard top ten or whatever. Strange days indeed. 'My Girls' and 'Brother Sport' are probably my favorite AC tracks of all time at this point.
